General Response Guidelines
Emergency Medical
EMS Calls are prioritized through EMD Dispatchers and coded by nature of the call and severity.
Coded A-E; Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo.
Alpha: Non-ER response: 1 Medic.
Bravo: ER-response: 1 Medic.
Charlie: ER-response: 1 Medic and 1 Engine or Quint. Delta: ER-response: 1 Medic, 1 ALS unit, and 1 Engine or Quint.
Echo: Critical-care response: 1 Battalion Chief, 1 ALS unit, 1 Medic and 1 Engine or Quint.
Fire Calls
Outside Investigation: Pertaining to an open burn, CO check, wires down, special service:
1 Engine or Quint or 1 Truck Company.
Inside Investigation: 1 Engine or Quint
CO Alarm w/illness: Add 1 Medic, and 1 Battalion Chief.
Automatic Alarm: 2 Engines (1 maybe a Quint) and 1 Truck Company.
Waterflow Alarm: Still Response.
Still Alarm: 2 Engines (1 maybe a Quint), 1 Medic and 2 Trucks (initial fire response).
Working Fire: 1 RIT Engine, Squad Company, 1 Battalion Chief, 1 Safety Officer, 1 additional Medic and Utility 2.
Box Alarm: 3 Engines and 2 Trucks, 1 Medic and 1 Battalion Chief
2-11 Alarm: 4 Engines, 2 Trucks (1 must be a tower ladder), 1 Battalion Chief, 1 Medic and Staff Chiefs.
3-11 Alarm: 3 Engines and 1 Truck Company.
4-11 Alarm & up: 3 Engines and 1 Truck Company.
CRPI (Crash, Personal Injury): 1 Battalion Chief, 1 Medic and 1 Engine and or Quint.
-W/ Entrapment: Add Squad 5 and Squad 5A. Additional Medic as needed
-Interstate: Joint response with Riverwoods and Lockland.
Outside Gas Leak: 1 Engine or Quint.
Inside Gas Leak: Still Alarm response.
Water Rescue: 1 Battalion Chief, 1 Safety Officer, 1 ALS Unit, 2 Medics, 1 Engine, Squad 5 and Squad 5A, Riverwoods Squad 9.
Hazardous Materials:
Level 1: 1 Battalion Chief, 1 Safety Officer, 2 Medics, 2 Engines (1 maybe a Quint), 1 Truck, Westbrick Hazmat Taskforce 4, Foam Taskforce, Utility 2.
Level 2: Decon Unit, Riverwoods Hazmat Taskforce, Hazmat Coordinator, and chief officers.
Level 3: Lego Township Hazmat 1, Quick Attack 6, BC and St. Lego Air.
